  • Yellow buckeye is native to the Southern Appalachian Mountains and moist upland areas, often along rivers or streams.

    It prefers moist, well-drained, fertile soils and full sun. This tree can tolerate moderate urban conditions, but is sensitive to dry conditions.

  • Yellow buckeye produces showy yellow flowers in the spring and inedible shiny nuts in the fall.
